"As they were walking inside, my grandma arrived with the birth certificate. Seeing everything in order she was relieved to have such well-behaved kids."

As my uncle Orlando and my mother cautiously tip-toed towards the front wooden door of the house, my Grandma Prudencia arrived with the birth certificate. After greeting her little ones in the entrance, Grandma Prudencia pushed the door carefully and peaked inside through a small crack as though she were expecting to find the house completely destroyed. To her surprise, the kitchen had no dirty pans or plates, the children’s beds were made, and no toy was lying around. With a sigh of relief, she hugged her children and made them their favorite supper.  

CHARACTER

My mother…

My mother is a short, around 5’0”,Hispanic looking woman. She had a nice figure for her age and she doesn’t look a day over 25. Her hair was long and straight and the light brown color of her hair made the sunlight bounce right of her hair. She also had the sweetest, most rounded face I've ever seen, but that’s what makes her very special.

My seven cousins begin to gather by the door. 

Showing:

Trickling out of the cars, the young start to congregate. Lining up like ducks following their mother, my seven cousins followed me to the doorway. With excitement on their face, They stood eagerly awaiting to uncover what was inside.  

CHARACTER

Showing: Uncle Rudy

Telling: Uncle Rudy was a tall man, roughly around 6ft tall. He had a mustache and beady eyes which match his demeaner that was grave and resilient. His sense of humor was dry like Sahara Dessert. Only when it was at his convince he would join in on any fun.
